My Identity

But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Galatians 4:4-7

Jesus redeemed us so that we could fully be sons of God. Since we are sons, God placed the Spirit of Jesus in our hearts! This Spirit cries out for us, ‘Abba Father!’ This Spirit promotes a closeness of relationship between us and God the Father.

Sonship! This is my identity – a son of the Most High. Clearly God wanted this relationship. He sent Jesus! He wanted this closeness of relationship. He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in my heart! The question becomes if I want it. If I wanted this relationship with God Almighty even a fraction of how much He wants it… wow! What a rich life I would have…

Thank You, Father, for pursuing me. Thank You for providing the way for me in Christ. Thank You for Your Spirit that draws me closer and closer to You.
