Remember The Prize
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
In a race only one person wins. Run to win! The trophies, ribbons and crowns of this world… they will not last. They will be dust! But the prize we run for is eternal!
1 Timothy 6:11-12; 2 Timothy 4:7-8; 1 Peter 1:3-5
This is a race worth running – remember the prize. The difficulties of the battle and the mastering of the flesh are worth the effort – remember the prize! Yielding to Christ and submitting to His Spirit is vitally important – remember the prize. Having patience with people, being an encourager and an equipper is not optional – remember the prize!
Thank You, Lord, for this purposeful life. Thank You for the crown of glory that awaits all of us who long for your appearing! Help me this day to run in such a way that brings honor to You.
