Who Am I?
The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. With the exception of Jesus, has there been a man more powerfully used by God than Moses? And yet Moses’ beginnings and journey into leadership is not impressive at all. He is the opposite, maybe, of the ‘natural-born leader.’ Even so, God is going to use Him greatly.
In the text when Moses asks, ‘Who am I to go before Pharoah?’ I want to answer: “You’re someone who has heard from God! In a burning bush that is not consumed, God has visited you and has told you what He is gong to do. He has decided to use you, Moses, to accomplish it! That’s who you are! God even promises, ‘I will be with you.’”
Lord, You are Immanuel – God with us. You are God in real-time, present in my life through the power of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your Presence and Your leading. Having been with You is enough! Thank You for what You have decided to do. Use me in Your plans! I am Your servant.
