I'm Still Stunned
I'm still stunned. And so grateful!
Thank you, Church Family, for the surprise birthday party last night. That was unbelievable and a whole lot of fun! When I got home and was putting things away I found the stack of cards. I laughed into the night... thank you! It certainly was a birthday that I'll never forget.
Now that I'm old enough to be your pastor (smile), I'm excited about tomorrow! If you're in town this Labor Day Weekend, be sure to get to church. I'm beginning a new season and with a new message series called "Life in the Vineyard." Of all the messages and Scripture passages that I was exposed to this summer, the one that impacted me the most was when we read John 15 in our Life Journal reading. Tomorrow the message title is: "Your Highest Calling." You may be involved in a lot of good things, but as a follower of Jesus do you know what your highest calling is? Tomorrow we'll take a look! Read John 15:1-8 ahead of time if you can.
It is a new season! I've started viewing (and reviewing) my life in terms of 10 year 'chunks.' I've just started a new 'chunk' and I'm excited about what God is going to do through me, my family and our church. Norkenzie is a special place and we serve an awesome God!
Are you ready for a new season? Reply with your stories and insights! I'd love to hear from you. If you have a prayer need, let me know and I'll forward it to the Elders and Prayer Team.
See you in the morning!
Neil
