Hope In What Doesn't Fail

The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
Psalm 147:11

I like the idea of being someone in whom God delights.  That He would take pleasure and find joy in me is an amazing thought.  And not just me, God takes delight in everyone who fears Him.  His whole Kingdom will be made up of these people who honor and respect Him.  This makes sense since it’s His Kingdom!

God’s people put their hope in His unfailing love.  This is the right thing to do!  Why put your hope in things that are weak and frail… in things that will fail?  We are often disappointed when we do that.  Our hope naturally goes toward what is strong and reliable.  There’s nothing more strong and reliable than God’s amazing love for us!  So we live like we have hope.

Our human relationships fail often.  The economy takes a painful downturn.  Our own spirits become deflated.  You can’t even hope in yourself, really.  But Jesus never fails!  He never wavers.  He doesn’t change.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)… and He loves us!  That’s not going to change.

Lord, You are great and mighty and worthy of my life.  I honor You and worship You alone.  Thank You for Your unfailing love.  I live in it today…
